If you are a fan of spicy food, this is a must-try recipe. The sauce is the star of this recipe!
INGREDIENTS
- 20 prawns or shrimp
- 10 cloves of garlic
- 1.5 cups corn starch
- 1 tbsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tbsp. paprika (optional)
- 1/2 tbsp. red chili powder
- 1/4 tbsp. oregano
- 1/4 tbsp. thyme
- salt and pepper to taste
Spicy Garlic Sauce
- 2.5 tbsp. butter
- 1 lemon
- 1.5 tbsp. Korean Red Chili paste
- garnish with Parmesan cheese
DIRECTIONS
- Add cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, thyme, oregano, and red chili pepper to a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper.
- Coat the clean and deveined shrimp in the cornstarch mixture. Shake off any excess cornstarch.
- Add 1/2 inch of oil to a pan and heat over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, pan-fry the shrimp on each side for 1-2 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- Use a paper towel to wipe out any excess oil in the pan. Add butter, Korean chili paste, and garlic. Turn the heat to medium and simmer for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp back to the pan. Squeeze in lemon juice and sauté on high heat for 1 minute.
- Finish with a garnish of green onion and Parmesan cheese.
